Local World Review

Editorial policy

Local World Review aims to make claims about places that are clear, proportionate and open to correction. We separate visible details from interpretation, avoid pretending that one example represents every neighbourhood, and revise material when a credible error is brought to our attention.

Accuracy and context

We check names, descriptions and factual claims against suitable sources before publication, and try to make the basis for an explanation clear. A map or visible feature may support an observation without proving why it came to be. Where evidence is limited or interpretations differ, we say what is known, what is inferred and what remains uncertain.

Independence and conflicts

Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance to our subject, not to promise favourable coverage. If a relationship could reasonably affect how readers understand a piece, we disclose it alongside the material. Partners do not receive editorial control over independent coverage.

Corrections

Readers can flag an error through the Contact page. We review specific correction requests, check the relevant claim and update material when a change is warranted. Significant corrections are identified in the affected article so readers can understand what changed; we do not silently present a corrected claim as though it had always been right.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is clearly labelled wherever it appears, and placements are distinguished from editorial articles. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that applies, the image is identified as AI-generated. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence of a real place.
