Write for us

Local World Review welcomes pitches that help readers notice and understand local places: a clear explanation of a street pattern, a thoughtful account of a place name, or a fresh way to observe familiar landmarks. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What makes a pitch work

Tell us the subject, the central question and the reader takeaway in a short, specific proposal. A good pitch has a distinct angle, explains why the subject suits a general audience and identifies the kinds of sources or observations that could support it. Keep claims modest and flag anything that still needs checking.

Suitable subjects

We are interested in street layouts, landmarks, names, boundaries and place-reading activities that do not depend on professional advice or local rules. We favour useful evergreen pieces that help readers look more closely, compare possibilities or understand a feature. We do not need a finished article with a pitch.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary, your proposed approach and any relevant sources or visual considerations. Do not send confidential material or assume that a pitch has been accepted until the publication replies.
